MEKONG DELTA: SEAFOOD PRODUCTION INCREASED 252,000 MT
(vasep.com.vn) According to statistics of aquaculture sector, in 2011, harvested seafood output of Mekong River Delta in the region reached 2.19 million MT, up 252,000 MT from last year. In which 300,000 MT are black tiger shrimp and whiteleg shrimp and 1.2 million MT are pangasius.

US SEAFOOD PRICES SET FOR 5% RISE
(IntraFish) US home consumption prices of fish and seafood expected to rise by 4% to 5% in 2012. Prices of fish and seafood consumed at home are expected to increase by 4 to 5 percent in 2012, says a reported by the US Department of Agriculture.

2011 THE MEKONG DELTA WON SEASON IN AQUACULTURE
According to the fishery Department of the Mekong Delta provinces, the region in 2011 won season with a total aquaculture harvest estimated at 2.192 million tons, up 252,000 tonnes in 2010, in which over 300,000 tons of shrimp, white shrimp and 1 , 2 million tons of fish.

SEAFOOD EXPORTS HAS OFFICIALLY REACHED 6 BILLION
Vietnam's fisheries exports has officially reached 6 billion, finished the target 4 days earlier than expectation of the seafood companies in Vietnam. So, with this result, seafood exports exceeded 5.3% from $ 5.7 billion planned this early year and increase by 20% compared to last year.

SHRIMP EXPORTS REACHED NEARLY US$2 BILLION
(vasep.com.vn) As of the end of October 2011, Vietnam shrimp export value hit nearly US$2 billion. According to analysts, it is much likely that shrimp exports of Vietnam this year will exceed US$2.1 billion of last year. Among three key import markets, monthly shrimp exports to Japan and the U.S went up and down but exports to the EU grew firmly. In the past ten months, shrimp exports to other markets such as China, South Korea, Canada and Russia boosted sharply, contributing to keep high and stable growth in Vietnam shrimp exports.

AGRO-FORESTRY, FISHERIES EXPORTS UP OVER 30 PERCENT
Vietnam earned $21.6 billion from agro-forestry and aquatic product exports in the first eleven months of this year, a year-on-year rise of 30.6 per cent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
